Middleton Trampolining Club Comes on Leaps and Bounds!
For some time now, Middleton Arena has played host to trampoline classes, and for all of that time, the head coach of those classes has had a dream. Three weeks ago that dream came true. The classes, under the expert tuition of Head Coach Lisa Lee gained club status and moved to Cardinal Langley Sports College. Just two weeks into the new clubs existence saw entry into their first competition as Middleton Trampolining Club and they came away with a multitude of medals and two trophies that went to Mercedes Gotham and Litalia Tracey, as they won Silver and Bronze in their category.
The Stockport Tariff Competition was held at Priestnall Recreation Centre on the 22nd of May, and MTC competed against seasoned athletes. A spokesman for the club said, "Lisa has worked tirelessly with the club members, and they have responded amazingly well. Given that the club has only been in existence for a matter of weeks, they went into the competition as the underdog but by the end of it, they emerged as a club not to be underestimated. The kids performed brilliantly and the people of Middleton should be as proud of them as Lisa and all the parents are. We're hoping this is the start of something big, not just for the competitors in the club but for Middleton as a whole."
The next competition will be the Aerodynamic Open Trampoline Competition on Sunday 3rd July 2011 in Crewe and the members are looking forward to competing and bringing home more success stories. Middleton Trampolining Club train at Cardinal Langley School on a Thursday and Sunday and there are adult sessions available on a Tuesday evening.
